Born and raised in Seattle, WA, the camera caught Briana’s eye during college in 2014. Without hesitation and a robust knowledge of photography, she decided to take the lens into her own hands. From volunteer to freelance work, Briana took a leap of faith and launched her own business, Made by Melanin, in 2018 which recorded the reality of black and brown faces in addition to supporting brand marketing.

It wasn’t too long after launching that she found herself shooting for major brands and companies such as Microsoft, Amazon, Nike, Netflix, and Spotify. After finding her footprint in film and photography, it was time to rebrand to a name that best symbolized her authentic craft—Made by Briana.

While the goal remains to amplify the voices of black and brown businesses, it’s equally important to collaborate with allies who strive to do the same. From brand marketing, to photography, and videography, Briana is a force to be reckoned with.
